Yes. A re-roof and most larger repairs need a permit. Cities such as West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Jupiter run their own building departments, and unincorporated addresses go through Palm Beach County. We pull the permit with the right office and meet the inspector. You do not touch the paperwork.

A Molsbee roofer checks the edges, valleys, flashings at walls and chimneys, pipe and vent collars, and loose, cracked or slipped tile or shingle, then the ceilings and attic where we can get in. Every finding is photographed. What no inspection can see is the underlayment under tile and the wood deck under the covering. Where that matters, we say so in writing, and on a re-roof any deck repair is shown to you and approved before it is done.

Clay barrel tile can often be saved. We lift the tile, replace the underlayment beneath it, and reset the same tile. That is called detach-and-reset. Our crews wear protective, safe footwear on tile roofs. We tell you at the inspection whether your tile is a good candidate.
